Do you wish being a parent was more enjoyable?
If you're feeling stuck and frustrated as a parent, virtual Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (virtual PCIT) with Leslie (Whitten) Baughman, LMFT (CA lic# 41380) may be the answer you're looking for.
Virtual PCIT and How it Works
PCIT is an Evidence Based Treatment program that uses live-coaching to help you prevent and manage difficult behaviors in your child(ren) (ages 2-8). While you and your child are playing together near your lap top, tablet, phone or other device; Leslie coaches you quietly through an ear bud via teletherapy video conferencing.
While your child is playing with you (often on their best behavior), Leslie is helping you to use research proven communication techniques that work to improve your relationship with your child, increase their appropriate behaviors outside of sessions, and decrease/eliminate problematic behaviors in general.
You will be taught skills to connect more deeply with your child, reduce power struggles, improve emotional regulation, minimize negative attention-seeking behaviors, increase focus and attention, and gain cooperation. You will also develop an understanding of how to effectively set boundaries and what to do when your child doesn't listen.
